Block a provider that breaks your model

The same model on OpenRouter can be served by many providers, and one of them can break tool calls. Since 0.2.13 you can block a provider for every model, or only for the models it breaks, and QuorX says when a reply had to use one anyway.

The Blocked providers list, with one provider blocked for deepseek models only.

When you pick a model on OpenRouter, OpenRouter picks who runs it. A popular open model can have a dozen providers, and they don't all behave the same: one cuts replies short, another mangles tool calls, a third is just slow. When an agent depends on tool calls, one bad provider can spoil a whole build.

Find the provider

Above each reply, QuorX shows who served it: via …, the provider's name. In Steps, every call shows it too. If replies on one model keep failing the same way, check whether it's always the same "via".

Block it

Open ⚙ Settings → 🔌 Providers → OpenRouter, then Blocked providers. Every OpenRouter provider is listed (there are over a hundred), blocked ones first, with a search and a Blocked / Allowed filter.

Tick a provider to block it:

Block it forWhen
Every modelIt misbehaves whatever it serves
Only some modelsIt's fine for one model and breaks another. Name the models, or a pattern such as deepseek/*

OpenRouter then never sends the agent's calls to it, for those models.

When only blocked providers are left

If every provider of a model is blocked, the reply uses them anyway rather than failing, and says so. You'll know to pick another model, or unblock one.

A default you can change

QuorX ships with one block already on: a provider that kept breaking DeepSeek models' tool calls is blocked for deepseek/* only. Untick it if it works for you.
